Wright Named Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior Chase Wright earned the first Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week award of 2011 after his performance at the Big Red Shootout, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The Muncie, Ind. native led the Hoosiers (No. 27 Golfweek-Sagarin/No. 33 Golfstat) to a 9.5-2.5 victory over Ball State. Wright defeated Tyler Merkel, 4&2, in the morning session before grabbing a 5&3 win over Eric Steger in the afternoon.
The pair of wins improved Wright's career match-play record to 9-3.
The award marks the second for Wright during his collegiate career, as he previously won the honor on April 7, 2010.
