Hoosiers Add Two More to NCAA Diving Squad

Sophomore Amy Cozad will make her first trip to the NCAA Championships next week.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Senior David Piercy and sophomore Amy Cozad will join junior Gabby Agostino and freshman Darian Schmidt as Indiana's diving representatives at the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Piercy earned his trip to Minneapolis, site of the 2011 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships March 24-26, after finishing second in the three-meter springboard diving event with a score of 785.20 points. He joins Schmidt who punched his ticket with a third-place finish in the 1-meter event on Thursday.

Cozad will compete at the women's NCAA meet, March 17-19 in Austin, Texas, thanks to today's second-place showing in the platform competition. Cozad tallied 652.45 points.

Indiana will take a total of 15 athletes to the women's NCAA meet (13 swimmers, two divers) and 11 (nine swimmers, two divers) to the men's competition. Follow IUHoosiers.com for all NCAA results.
