NORMAN, Okla. - Indiana held the 10th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners off the scoreboard in the first inning, but the hot-hitting Sooners got on the board in the next three innings while the Hoosier bats never could get going against Keilani Ricketts in a 9-0 loss in five innings.
Sara Olson broke up Ricketts' no-hit bid in the top of the fifth inning with a sharp single right back up the middle.
Ricketts final line showed one hit allowed and 10 strikeouts in five innings - her fifth consecutive complete game shutout.
The Sooners scored two runs in the second inning and one in the third before erupting for six in the bottom of the fourth inning - three of which were unearned.
Indiana will play Arkansas - Pine Bluff at 11:00 a.m. ET with Dave Leno and Nathan Wiechers providing the live audio broadcast. The Hoosiers will also play a second game at 3:30 p.m. ET with the opponent to be determined after the completion of the 11:00 a.m. game.
