BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's golf team will spend its spring break in the western part of the country as it travels to Phoenix, Ariz. for the Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam, March 14-16, hosted by Northern Arizona University.
The field consists of host Northern Arizona (86), Akron (116), Bradley (129), British Columbia, Eastern Michigan (125), Florida International, Grand Canyon, Indiana (64), McNeese State (185), Montana (98), Northern Colorado (196), Portland (169), Tarleton State and Weber State (197).
"It is a traditional southwest, fairly open resort course with a lot of water hazards and out of bounds, as well as fairly generous greens," said head coach Clint Wallman. "It is a good spring break course to get our games tuned up."
The teams will play 18 holes each of the three days. The Hoosiers are coming off a 13th-place finish at the Central District Invitational two weeks ago and were led by freshman Lindsay Gahm. Gahm finished tied for 13th at the event in Florida, her fourth-straight top-15 finish this season.
Gahm will play in the No. 1 spot, with junior Kristtini Cain at No. 2. Sophomore Kate Coons returns to the lineup in the third spot, with sophomore Jacqueline Yanch and senior Lauren Giesecke rounding out the group. Sophomore Rosie Davies will compete in the tournament as an individual.
