Indiana Finishes Tied for Fourth at National Invitational Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. -
The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (No. 28 Golfweek-Sagarin/No. 30 Golfstat) finished tied for fourth among a 15-team field at the National Invitational Tournament at Tucson National Golf Club after posting a 2-over 290 (303-289-290--882) in the final round on Tuesday.
Tulsa captured the team title with an 867, followed by SMU (874) and Arizona (876). Jonathan Khan of Arizona won the individual title after posting a 4-under 210 (67-70-73). Indiana finished in a deadlock with TCU for fourth place.
David Erdy led the Hoosiers with a 1-under 71 (74-71-71--216) in the final round to tie for seventh, marking the fifth top-10 finish for the Boonville, Ind. native this season.
Brant Peaper improved his score each round, firing a 2-under 70 (78-73-70) in the final round to tie for 17th. Peaper's final round included just one bogey, to go along with a trio of birdies. He has five top-25 finishes in 2011.
Another Hoosier that now has five top-25 showings is David Mills. The freshman posted 74s in all three rounds of the tournament for a 222 total and a 23rd place finish.
Chase Wright concluded the tournament with a 76 (77-71-76--224) and ended in a tie for 30th. Kyle Perry rounded out the Indiana lineup in a tie for 57th after finishing with a final round 75 (79-76-75--230).
Indiana will be right back in action this week as the Hoosiers head to Laredo, Texas for the 2011 Border Olympics on March 25-26.
