Hoosiers Down the Spartans, 6-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis moved to 2-0 in Big Ten play with a 6-1 win over No. 44 Michigan State. The Hoosiers won with impressive play from Jeremy Langer at number one singles and number one doubles. The Hoosiers are 14-4 on the season.
Langer and Santiago Gruter played impressive tennis at number one doubles, defeating Jason Norville and John Stratton 8-5. Langer continued his strong play in singles, making quick work of the top Spartan, Denis Bogatov, 6-3, 6-2.
The Hoosiers won all three doubles matches and got a great match out of Josh MacTaggart at number three singles. MacTaggart took control late in the first set to defeat John Stratton 6-4, 6-2.
Stephen Vogl clinched the match for IU, winning at number six singles in straight sets. He beat Jason Norville of Michigan State 6-2, 7-6 (1). Gruter won in a third-set super tiebreaker at number two, taking down Ron Hulewicz 6-3, 6-7 (4), 10-6, and Isade Juneau closed out the 6-1 win by taking the marathon match at number five, defeating Drew Lied 5-7, 6-3, 7-5.
