Indiana 15th After Two Rounds of MountainView Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Indiana women's golf team sits in 15th place after 36 holes of the MountainView Invitational, being held at the MountainView Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
The Hoosiers posted round of 300 and 311 for a score of 611. Iowa State leads the field at 569, with Oklahoma (578), Arkansas (578), Colorado (583) and Minnesota (585) rounding out the top five.
The tournament concludes with an 18-hole round tomorrow.
Freshman Lindsay Gahm is the top Hoosier, tied for 25th with a score of 147. Gahm led the Hoosiers in round one with a even-par 72. She offset bogeys on holes one, three and four with a trio of birdies on six, 15 and 17. She came in with a 3-over 75 in the second round of the day.
Junior Kristtini Cain is tied for 58th at 154. Cain had a solid first round at MountainView, posting a 2-over 74 in the first round. She tallied three birdies in the round but was set back with a double bogey on 17 and bogeys on four, six and seven. The junior struggled in round two, carding an 8-over 80.
Sophomore Kate Coons is also tied for 58th with a score of 154. Coons shot a 6-over 78 in round one, tripped up by a double bogey on four and bogeys on five, 11, 12 and 14. She went two strokes better in round two with a 76.
Sophomore Jacqueline Yanch sit in the 72nd spot in the standings with a score of 157. Yanch's 4-over 76 in the first round saw the sophomore pick up a trio of birdies on six, nine and 15. She tallied a 9-over 81 in the second round of the day.
Rounding out the Hoosier lineup, senior Lauren Giesecke is tied for 77th with her score of 158. Giesecke tallied a 6-over 78 in the first round with her lone birdie of the round coming on the sixth hole. In round two she finished with an 8-over 80.
