"Talking IU Water Polo" with Lauren Wyckoff
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 17 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team begins its Spring Break trip this weekend at the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State. The Hoosiers (7-8) will compete in four games, which include three contests against teams ranked in the Varsity Top 20. Indiana comes into the event riding a five-game winning streak after wins against CWPA foes Maryland and Princeton, as well as Marist last weekend.

RED HOT
Nicole Redder was named the Western Division Player of the Week after her seven goal performance during the three Hoosier wins in Princeton, N.J. Redder scored at least two goals in each game and also recorded four assists, four steals, three field blocks, and seven earned exclusions.
Redder's 145 career goals moves her to fourth on the IU all-time list, passing Deb Simone (139) over the weekend. She leads the Hoosiers in scoring this season with 20 goals and also has totals of nine assists and 18 steals.
TRIPLE HUNDRED
Lauren Wyckoff became the fifth Hoosier in program history to eclipse 100 goals, 100 assists, and 100 steals in a career. The Los Altos, Calif. grabbed her 100th steal in the 9-8 win against Princeton on March 5. Her career totals are 129 goals, 104 assists, and 103 steals. The last Hoosier to crack the century mark in all three categories was Brooke Zimmerman in 2008.
Wyckoff also came through in the scoring department against the Tigers, notching two goals in a span of 25 seconds early in the fourth period to give the Hoosiers an 8-6 lead. She followed it up with a backhand game-winner with 46 seconds left to play.
SEASON-HIGH
Goalkeeper Cassie Wyckoff racked up a season-high 14 saves in the win against Maryland. She registered 28 stops during the three-game slate, while also recording two assists and a pair of steals. Wyckoff was named the Western Division Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in Princeton. She is third in the CWPA and fifth in the country in total saves according to the NCAA Water Polo Statistics website.
TENACIOUS D
Jakie Köhli has been a consistent force on the defensive end for the Hoosiers, collecting 30 steals on the season, including five games with at least three takeaways. The Burnaby, B.C. native has also made seven field blocks. Aside from denying the opposition, Köhli has also continued to get on the scoreboard and is one of five Hoosiers with double-digit goals in 2011.
IMPACT FRESHMEN
Shae Fournier continued her solid play this season, finishing the Princeton trip with five goals, six assists, and six steals. She also recorded a trio of field blocks. Along with Köhli, Fournier leads the Hoosiers with 30 steals this season.
Meghan Lappan broke through in the win against Marist, scoring a career-best two goals. The North Vancouver, B.C. native also registered five assists and three steals during the weekend.
Amanda Redfern had one goal, two assists, and a steal in the win against Maryland. She has started 11 games this season for the Hoosiers.
