Women's Golf Closes Regular Season with Lady Buckeye Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University women's golf team will wrap up its regular-season slate with the Lady Buckeye Invitational, April 16-17 on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kent State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Xavier will join Indiana. The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, followed by a final round of 18 on Sunday, also a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Representing the Hoosiers in the six-count-four tournament will be freshman Lindsay Gahm, junior Kristtini Cain, sophomore Kate Coons, sophomore Jacqueline Yanch, senior Cecilia Orevik and sophomore Pamela Burneski.
Indiana is coming off a fourth-place finish at its own IU Invitational, battling the elements at Otter Creek Golf Club for a score of 622 over a rain-shortened 36 holes. Gahm was the top Hoosier finisher, placing tied for eighth. The freshman has been Indiana's top performer this year, posting seven top-25 finishes in eight events played, and four top-10 placings. She enters the final tournament with a 74.00 stroke average.
Coons has tallied three top-25 finishes, while Cain and Yanch have two each. Coons is the top returning finisher for IU at this event, finishing tied for 26th as a freshman last year. Yanch placed tied for 35th and Burneski tied for 40th.
