Hoosiers Place 10th at Lady Buckeye Spring Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Indiana University women's golf team wrapped up its regular season with a 10th-place finish at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University.
The Hoosiers posted a round of 338 on Sunday to finish with a tally of 982 (322-322-338). Playing through difficult conditions where just rounds of par were shot for the entire tournament, Michigan State took the team title with a score of 918, while the Spartans' Caroline Powers was the individual medalist at 226. Kent State placed second (935), followed by Wisconsin (939), Ohio State (941) and Northwestern (946).
Junior Kristtini Cain was the top IU finisher, placing tied for 28th with a 54-hole score of 241. Cain finished the tournament with a 14-over 86 on Sunday. Freshman Lindsay Gahm had the best round of the day for IU on Sunday, shooing a 10-over 82 to finish 35th with a score of 243 (76-85-82).
Sophomore Jacqueline Yanch posted a 13-over 85 on Sunday to place 54th (84-80-85=249), while sophomore Kate Coons finished 63rd with a 254 (85-82-87). Senior Cecilia Orevik tied for 64th with an 86 on Sunday (88-82-86/256) and sophomore Pamela Burneski finished 70th with a score of 265 (88-92-85).
Indiana is back in action this weekend as it travels to Glencoe, Ill. for the Big Ten Championships, hosted by Northwestern at the Lake Shore Golf Club. The teams will play 36 holes on Friday, April 22, with 18 holes each on Saturday and Sunday.
