SETTING THE SCENE
• The Hoosiers travel to Glencoe, Ill. for the 2011 Big Ten Championships at Lake Shore Country Club.
• Indiana is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Lady Buckeye Invitational last weekend. IU posted top-10 finishes in seven tournament this year, including three of the last four.
• Indiana played this course in the fall at the Lady Northern Invitational, finishing sixth.
• The Hoosiers finished fifth at the 2010 Big Ten Championships in Madison, Wis.
• Four of Indiana's six competitors will be making their Big Ten Championship debut.

ABOUT THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
• All 11 Big Ten teams will take part in the championship event hosted by Northwestern at the Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe, Ill.
• This is the first time Northwestern has played host to the Big Ten Championships.
• Purdue is the defending team champion, while the Boilermakers' Laura Gonzalez-Escallon was the individual medalist in 2010.
• Sophomore Jacqueline Yanch is the top returning Hoosier after placing 14th at Big Tens as a freshman last season.
• The Hoosiers ranked second all-time in the conference ledger with seven team titles, the last coming in 1998. The Hoosiers lead all Big Ten schools with nine individual medalists.
• The Hoosiers' last individual medalist was Karen Dennison in 2003.
• IU's Ericka Wicoff is the only three-time individual medalist in Big Ten history.
A LOOK AT 2010-11
• It has been an up-and-down season for the Indiana women's golf team, but there have been plenty of highlights along the way.
• Freshman Lindsay Gahm has come out of the gate strong, posting seven top-25 finishes in nine events, and four top-10 showings.
• Gahm tied for third at the Lady Northern Invitational, played on this same Big Ten Championships course back in October. She also tied for fourth at the Challenge at Onion Creek and tied for seventh at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
• Gahm leads the team with a 74.80 stroke average. She posted her first round of the season in the 60s with a 69 on this course at the Lady Northern.
• Junior Kristtini Cain's best finish of the season also came on this Lake Shore Country Club course, finishing tied for 15th at the Lady Northern. Cain's low round of the year is a 71 posted at the Challenge at Onion Creek.
• Sophomore Kate Coons is one of two Hoosiers to post a round in the 60s this year, tallying a 69 in the final round of the MountainView Invitational. Her top finish of the year came at the Wolverine Invitational where she tied for 12th.
• Senior Lauren Giesecke had the best tournament of her career at the Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam, placing tied for seventh with a score of 218. She posted a career-best 71 in the second round.
• Sophomore Rosie Davies has competed in six tournaments this year, posting her best finish at the IU Invitational where she tied for 36th (79-81). She competed on this course at the Lady Northern, finishing tied for 67th (85-81-76).
• Freshman Sophie Hayashi has made four tournament appearances this season, posting a season-best tie for 40th at the Wolverine Invitational.
2010 BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP
• The Indiana women's golf team finished fifth at the 2010 Big Ten Championships held at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis., April 23-25.
• The Hoosiers finished with a four-round score of 1,205, which is the second-lowest Big Ten Championships score in school history.
• Individually, Laura Nochta recorded her best-ever individual finish with a tie for seventh, recording rounds of 72-73-75-76 (296).
• Jacqueline Yanch placed tied for 14th in her first championship appearance, with rounds of 76-71-73-80 (300). Her -1 score of 71 was the only under-par round by a Hoosier at the tournament.
• Despite playing with an injury, Pamela Burneski had the lowest rounds of the weekend for IU with a pair of 75s to finish tied for 32nd at 308 (80-78-75-75). Burneski was also named the team's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.
• Kate Coons tied for 41st at her first Big Tens, posting numbers of 79-75-77-81 (312).
• Lauren Giesecke posted her best finish of the season, coming in tied for 44th with rounds of 80-81-76-77 (314).
• Kelly Belcher started the tournament strong and finished 47th with a score of 316 (77-76-75-88).
• The Hoosiers have finished fifth or better at the Big Ten Championships in three of head coach Clint Wallman's six seasons at Indiana.
