It was quite a Friday night for Houston Dynamo rookie and Indiana All-American Will Bruin. The striker recorded his first multiple-goal game in Major League Soccer, putting up three scores in a 4-1 Dyanmo win over D.C. United.
With the hat trick, Bruin became the first rookie in Dynamo history to score three goals in a game. He is the fourth Major League Soccer player to score three goals in a match as a rookie, joining Brian Maisonneuve (1996), Pat Noonan (2003) and Zack Schilawski (2010). Several of those names should be familiar to Hoosier fans with Maisonneuve and Noonan also donning the Cream and Crimson during their collegiate playing days.
It has also been noted that Bruin is the second-youngest player in MLS history to score a hat trick, with him being 17 days older than Stern John when he accomplished the feat in 1998.
