Mike Rabold Inducted into Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Former Indiana football standout and IU Athletics Hall of Famer Mike Rabold has been selected into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame. Rabold, who is a posthumous inductee, is one of 20 inductees.
Rabold was inducted into the IU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. He earned letters in 1956, 1957 and 1958, and was a team captain and Most Valuable Player as a guard in 1958.
A graduate of Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Ill., Rabold played professionally with the Chicago Bears.
Other inductees include Barry Sanders, Jim Calhoun, Bobby Hull, Glenn "Doc" Rivers, Dave Casper, Rocky Bleier, Howard Griffith, Paul Flatley, Milt Pappas, Mabel Landry State, Steve Zucker, Pierre Pilote, Mickey Pruitt, Jack Rosenberg, John Holecek, Frank Strocchia, Therese Boyle-Niego, Tom O'Malley and Tom Winiecki.
This year's event will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, in the Gold Cup at Hawthorne Race Course in Stickney/Cicero, Ill. It is the 15th annual induction and awards dinner.
The Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame has inducted 440 athletes, coaches, officials, media and others who have distinguished themselves with contributions to sports.
