Ziedonis Notches Third Place Finish at Indiana State Amateur

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Indiana rising junior Corey Ziedonis recorded a 2-over 74 in the final round at the 2011 Indiana State Amateur Championship on Thursday to finish third at Otter Creek Golf Club. Ziedonis was joined in the top-10 by Hoosier teammates Chase Wright and David Erdy, while Kyle Perry finished 32nd in the event.
Ziedonis' stellar week included 13 birdies during the four-round event, as the Indianapolis, Ind. native finished with a 2-over 290 (71-72-73-74).
Wright, a rising senior, registered a tie for eighth after finishing with a 5-over 293 (71-75-72-75), while Erdy was five behind with a 10-over 298 (74-75-77-72) to finish 15th.
Perry put together a final round 73 en route to a 17-over total of 305 (78-73-81-73).
