IU Classic Provides First Homestand for IU Volleyball

The Indiana University volleyball team (1-2) returns to Bloomington this weekend to host the IU Classic. The Hoosiers play host to Southeast Missouri State, Youngstown State and Buffalo in a round robin tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2-3.
The Hoosiers play SEMO (0-4) at 7 p.m. ET on Friday before facing Youngstown State (0-3) at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and the Bulls of Buffalo (2-1) in a 7 p.m. nightcap.
Live audio broadcasts on IUHoosiers.com will be available for all three matches this weekend, and every contest throughout the entire 2011 season. Cody Sharrett will call the play-by-play.
The Hoosiers meet up with the SEMO Redhawks for just the second time ever. The first meeting was a 3-0 victory for IU in September of 2003. SEMO is led by Colleen Yarber, who is averaging 3.00 kills per set in four matches this season. Indiana has never taken the court against either Youngstown State or Buffalo. The Penguins are led by Missy Huneldt, who has 50 kills in the first three matches this season. Buffalo is led by freshman Liz Scott, who has 41 kills and is hitting .378 in her first three collegiate matches, and senior Abby Niekamp, who was picked a preseason All-MAC honoree.
