2011 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars
NORMAN, Okla. - Indiana rising senior David Erdy has been named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Erdy is one of 138 players in Division I to earn the honor. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university
A Second Team All-Big Ten honoree in 2011, Erdy finished the year with a season scoring average of 72.83, which is 16th on the Indiana all-time list. He will enter his senior campaign with the third lowest career average in school history at 73.34.
The Boonville, Ind. native posted nine top-25 finishes in 2011, including six top-10 performances, en route to being named to the PING All-Midwest Region team.
Erdy, a general studies major, was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten team for the second consecutive season.
