BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After winning her first collegiate title, Indiana University junior golfer Rosie Davies picked up her first Big Ten Player of the Week honor, the conference office announced Thursday.
Davies took home individual medalist honors at the IU Fall Kickoff last weekend, finishing at even par for the 36-hole tournament. Davies carded a round of 72 for the first 18 on Saturday and matched that in Sunday's final round, helping Indiana come from two strokes down to win the team tournament title as well.
Davies is the first Hoosier to earn Player of the Week honors since Anita Gahir in April 2009.
Indiana is back in action this weekend, taking part in the Mary Fossum Invitational Sept. 17-18 in East Lansing, Mich.
