EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Indiana women's golf team tallied a seventh-place finish with a score of 935 at the Mary Fossum Invitational at Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.
The Hoosiers carded a final round of 317 to finish at 935 (316-302-317). The host Spartans won the tournament at 892, with Ohio State (907), Michigan (910), Kent State (917) and Miami (928) rounding out the top five.
"The course played very challenging today," said head coach Clint Wallman. "Rosie had a solid round, as did Kristtini. This weekend gave us an opportunity to see where we are at and create a bench mark for things we need to work on heading into the Lady Northern in a few weeks."
Individually, Rosie Davies tied for fourth with a final-round 77 on Sunday to post a 224 (79-68-77). That was the low round of the day for IU. Senior Kristtini Cain was also a top-20 finisher, placing in a tie for 18th with a score of 231, including her final-round 78 (81-72-78).
Junior Kate Coons placed 44th with an 80 on Sunday (76-85-80). Sophomore Sophie Hayashi carded an 86 Sunday and finished tied for 54th (80-81-86/247). Freshman Elizabeth Tong tied for 56th with a round of 82 Sunday (85-81-82/248).
Competing as an individual, junior Pamela Burneski tied for 45th with an 84 on Sunday (80-78-84/242).
The Hoosiers return to action Oct. 10-11 as they play host to the Lady Northern Invitational in French Lick, Ind.
