Olson Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana field hockey's Maggie Olson was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her performance in goal in the Hoosiers' 4-1 win over then-No. 15 Northwestern on Friday, Sept. 23.

Olson, a native of Springfield, Pa., recorded nine saves in her 70:00 minutes in the cage against the Wildcats, giving up just one goal and picking up her sixth win. She is undefeated in 2011 and leads the Big Ten in goals against average (0.89) and save percentage (.833).

Olson and the No. 13 Hoosiers head back out on the road this week to take on No. 20 Ohio State on Friday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m. ET in Columbus.
