SETTING THE SCENE
• Indiana makes its second trip of the season to South Bend, this time to take on Bucknell and Denver at the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament.
• The Hoosiers are coming off a 2-0 weekend with wins over Saint Louis (3-1) and Dayton (6-0) to win the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.
INDIANA IN THE POLLS
• Indiana moved up four spots in this week's Soccer America top 25, coming in at No. 10, and moved up eight spots in the NSCAA poll to No. 10.
• The Hoosiers climbed seven spots in the College Soccer News top-30, up to No. 9. IU moved up four spots to No. 8 in the week 2 Top Drawer Soccer Tournament 48.
• Indiana climbs one spot to No. 5 in the Goal.com top 25 and moved up three spots to No. 8 in MLSSoccer.com top 20.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Indiana improved to 2-0-1 on the season with wins over Saint Louis (3-1) and Dayton (6-0) at the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.
• The Hoosiers won the Classic for the first time since the 2005 season.
• Eriq Zavaleta and Alec Purdie had goals against Saint Louis, with the third goal coming as an own goal. Purdie, Zavaleta and Chris Estridge were also credited with assists.
• The win improved Indiana to 19-9-4 all-time against the Billikens.
• Sophomore Matt McKain made his first start of the 2011 season against SLU.
• Five different players accounted for the six Hoosier goals in the 6-0 win over Dayton.
• The six goals was the most scored by an IU team since a 6-0 win over Butler in 2005.
• Blake Wise, Jacob Bushue and Chris Estridge all scored their first-ever goals in a Hoosier uniform.
• Wise became the first Hoosier with a multiple goal game in 2011, tallying two scores against the Flyers. He led the Hoosiers with four shot attempts.
• Harrison Petts, Tommy Meyer and A.J. Corrado each had two assists.
• A total of 24 Hoosiers saw action in the win, with Jack Coleman, Aris Zafeiratos, Dylan Lax and Michael Soderlund making their first-ever appearances in an IU uniform.
ZAVALETA NAMED BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• With a two-goal, two-assist performance over the weekend at the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic, Indiana University freshman striker Eriq Zavaleta is the Big Ten co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Sept. 5.
• Zavaleta played a large role in Indiana's 3-1 win over Saint Louis and 6-0 win over Dayton to earn its first Classic title since 2005. Against the Billikens, Zavaleta scored his first career goal on what was the second shot attempt of his young IU career to give IU a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. Less than 10 minutes later, Zavaleta played the ball into senior Alec Purdie for what would become the game-winning goal.
• On Sunday against Dayton Zavaleta picked up his second goal in as many games, weaving his way through a pair of Flyers defenders for a score in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute it was his back heel pass to sophomore Blake Wise that led to the sixth score of the afternoon for the Hoosiers.
• For his efforts, Zavaleta was named to the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic All-Tournament Team and was honored as the Classic's Offensive MVP. Zavaleta shares the award with Ohio State's Parnell Hegngi.
• Zavaleta was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his play against Saint Louis and Dayton.
SCOUTING THE BISON
• Bucknell is 2-1 this season with a 4-1 win over St. Francis (Pa.), a 2-1 win over LaSalle and a 3-1 loss to Binghamton.
• Mayowa Alli leads the team with three goals and one assist, while Luke Joyner has a goal and two assists to go along with 10 shot attempts. Josh Plump has a goal and a team-best 12 shot attempts.
• Goalkeeper Tommy Casso has played in all three matches, making two starts. He has allowed three goals in 225 minutes for a 1.20 GAA.
• These are the first road matches for Bucknell this season.
• Head coach Brendan Nash is in his 13th season as head coach at Bucknell. He is assisted by Patrick Long and Pete Ellis.
SERIES HISTORY
• This is the first-ever meeting between Bucknell and Indiana.
INDIANA vs. PATRIOT LEAGUE
• This is just the second time an IU squad has played a team from the Patriot League. The Hoosiers played American University to a 1-1 tie in 1986.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
• Denver is 0-1-1 on the season, still looking for its first goal with a 1-0 loss to Creighton and a 0-0 tie with Davidson.
• Oliver Brown has played all 200 minutes in goal for DU, allowing one score for a 0.45 GAA. He has four saves on the season.
• Jarod Stignall and Drew Beckie lead the way with seven shot attempts each, with four of Beckie's attempts on frame.
• Denver participated in the ShindigZ National Soccer Festival in Fort Wayne last month, playing Wisconsin to a 0-0 tie and Ohio State to a 1-1 tie.
• Head Coach Bobby Muuss is in fifth season at Denver and owns a record of 34-29-15. He is assisted by Ryan Pflugrad and Carson Porter.
• Volunteer assistant coach Mike Freitag is well known to Hoosier fans, having been a player, assistant coach and head coach for the Hoosiers.
SERIES HISTORY
• This is the first-ever regular season meeting between the Hoosiers and Pioneers.
INDIANA vs. MPSF
• Indiana is 7-2 against teams currently in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The Hoosiers are 1-0 vs. Air Force, 1-1 vs. New Mexico, 2-1 vs. UNLV, 2-0 vs. San Jose State and 1-0 vs. Seattle.

ADIDAS/IU CREDIT UNION CLASSIC RECAP
• Indiana won its first adidas/IU Credit Union Classic title since 2005 and 12th overall with a 3-1 win over Saint Louis and a 6-0 win over Dayton.
• In other matches, Notre Dame defeated Dayton, 4-1, while Saint Louis came away with a 2-1 double overtime win over the Fighting Irish.
• Indiana set new tournament records for goals in a game (6), goals in a tournament (9), assists in a game (9), and assists in a tournament (12).
• Tommy Meyer, Jacob Bushue, Eriq Zavaleta and Chris Estridge were all named to the all-tournament team.
• Meyer was honored as the tournament's defensive MVP, while Zavaleta was named the offensive MVP.
