Complete Varsity Preseason National Top 20
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team will enter the 2012 season ranked No. 10 in the Varsity Preseason National Top 20 released by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA).
The Hoosiers are coming off a school record-tying 26 wins in 2011, which included a CWPA Eastern Championship and a sixth place finish at the NCAA Championship.
The top-10 ranking for the Hoosiers is the highest preseason mark for an Indiana team since the 2004 season. Head coach Barry King's squad began that season ranked No. 9 following the program's first CWPA Championship and NCAA Final Four appearance in 2003.
Indiana will also begin the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the CWPA Poll, followed by No. 2 Hartwick, with Princeton and Michigan tied at No. 3.
The Hoosiers will get the 2012 campaign underway on January 21-22 in Ann Arbor, Mich. at the Michigan Kick-Off.
