Soffner Gets B1G Player of the Week Nod

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the second-straight week and the third time this season, Indiana senior goalkeeper Luis Soffner is the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Soffner posted his Big Ten-best sixth shutout of the year on Saturday as the Hoosiers posted a 1-0 double overtime victory at Penn State to remain perfect in conference play at 2-0. Soffner had three saves in the match for his seventh victory of the season.
The senior from St. Louis has played all 935:02 minutes in goal for IU this season, allowing just five scores for a 0.48 goals-against average and owns a save percentage of 89.6.
Soffner also earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 24 and Sept. 3.
Indiana (7-2-1) is back in action Wednesday night as it travels to regional foe Kentucky (5-4-1) for a 7 p.m. ET match.
