Tong Named B1G Golfer of the Week

Elizabeth Tong is the Big Ten Golfer of the Week for the first time in her IU career.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University sophomore Elizabeth Tong was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Tong is coming off her second individual victory of the season, taking medalist honors at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Tong tallied a 2-under 214 over the 54-hole tournament, matching her season-low round with a 68 on Tuesday.

Tong helped lead the Hoosiers to the team title in Las Vegas, also the second team title for the Hoosiers this fall. Indiana closed out its fall slate with a three-stroke win over UCF with a score of 894 (292-307-295).
