GAMEDAY CENTRAL
The Indiana football team (2-3, 0-2 Big Ten) closes out its two-game conference homestand when it hosts No. 8 Ohio State (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) on Saturday, Oct. 13. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. EDT at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) and BTN will broadcast the game.
THE COACHES
• Kevin Wilson is in his second season as head coach at Indiana. Wilson spent the 2002-10 seasons at Oklahoma, where he served as co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach from 2002-05 and as offensive coordinator and tight ends and fullbacks coach from 2006-10. OU played in seven Big 12 Title games in Wilson's nine years, going 6-1 in those appearances. His offenses were vital to accumulating an overall record of 99-24 (.805) during his time in Norman, including seven 10-win seasons.
• Urban Meyer is in his first season as head coach at Ohio State. Meyer owns a 110-23 (.827) record in his 11th overall season with stints at Bowling Green (2001-02), Utah (2003-04) and Florida (2005-10). He led Florida to the 2006 and 2008 national championships.
NEWS & NOTES
• The Hoosiers lead the Big Ten in passing offense (305.2-19th nationally) and kickoff returns (28.2-10th) and are second in total offense (471.4-26th). Indiana's 7.0 tackles for loss per game rank second in the league.
• Defensive tackle Adam Replogle leads all Big Ten defensive linemen and shares 13th overall in the Big Ten with teammate and linebacker David Cooper at 7.2 tackles per game.
• Cornerback Brian Williams shares third in the league with eight passes defended and nickel back Greg Heban is tied for sixth with six.
• Cody Latimer is fourth in the Big Ten in receiving yards (72.6) and tied for ninth in receptions (4.0). Shane Wynn is tied for fourth in receptions (5.6) and Kofi Hughes is seventh in receiving yards (62.0).
• The IU defense has 10 sacks and 35 TFLs. Indiana didn't reach those totals until game eight last year.
• Indiana has thrown 11 touchdowns this season, surpassing 2011's total of 10.
