BOCA CHICA, D.R. - The Indiana University baseball team is spending its Thanksgiving break in the Dominican Republic, arriving late Saturday. Here is the second entry into the Dominican Daily Diary...
HEAD COACH Tracy Smith
"Long day. Our first game in Boca Chica against the National Police team was rained out after two innings. Joey DeNato looked sharp in his first outing since the summer. The other half of the team played a team from Guayacanes and beat them 3-1. Kyle Hart, Walker Stadler, and Scott Effross all looked good. Chris Sujka had a big RBI double.
We returned to Boca Chica and strapped it on for an afternoon game against a local club. We won 15-6. They actually did play-by-play over the loud speakers the entire game ... even while the game was in full swing ... even when the batter was batting ... even when the pitcher was pitching. I didn't know it was possible for two guys to talk for 3 1/2 hours straight over loud speakers!
Hoosiers 2-0 after one day of baseball."
