Green and Grote Named to Big Ten All-Tournament Team

Bloomington, Ind. – Mariella Grote and Viki Green of the Indiana field hockey team were both selected to the 2012 Big Ten All-Tournament team today, Nov. 4. The postseason accolade is a first for both athletes.
Grote played an integral role in Indiana’s 4-0 win over Northwestern in the quarterfinal match of the 2012 Big Ten Tournament on Nov. 1, scoring a single-game career high two goals against the Wildcats. Grote finished tournament play with two goals and an assist on five shots on goal.
Green also was a vital piece of the Hoosiers defensive efforts against NU. She made seven saves against the Wildcats en route to the first postseason shutout victory by any Indiana goalkeeper in program history. Through tournament play, Green played all 140 minutes in net and posted a 1.93 goals against average.
