Hoosiers Tie for 14th at Central District Invite

PARRISH, Fla. - The Indiana University women's golf team posted its lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday to finish tied for 14th at the 54-hole Central District Invitational at River Wilderness Country Club in Parrish, Fla.
TCU game back to take the tournament title over Oklahoma with a three-round score of 882. The Sooners finished one stroke back at 883, followed by Vanderbilt (884), LSU (885) and Michigan State (887). Indiana recorded a 305 on Tuesday for a three-round score of 929, tied with Michigan.
"We got some great play today and were balanced throughout our lineup," said head coach Clint Wallman. "We look forward to getting back to Bloomington and working on things in preparation for next week."
Junior Pamela Burneski had the round of the day for Indiana, posting an even-par 72 to move into a tie for 42nd with a tournament score of 230 (80-78-72). She finished tied with teammate Kristtini Cain as the senior carded a 79 today to also finish at 230 (76-75-79).
Junior Rosie Davies was next on the leader board for IU, placing tied for 59th by matching her low round of the tournament with a 77 on Tuesday (80-77-77/234). Kate Coons also posted her low round of the 54 holes with a 77 today to finish 68th with a score of 236 (78-81-77). Freshman Elizabeth Tong improved upon her Monday rounds by a stroke, carding a 79 to place 71st (80-80=79/239).
The Hoosiers return to action Feb. 26-27 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin and held at the Westbrook. Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz. Wisconsin, Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Idaho, Texas-El Paso, and Washington State will play on the par-72, 6,178-yard course.
