Hoosiers Take Spring Break Trip to Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's golf team will spend its spring break in the south as it heads to the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate on March 16-18, hosted by Augusta State at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
The three-day event will consist of 18 holes each day. Live results will be available on GolfStat.com. Joining the Hoosiers on the course will be Augusta State, Charleston Southern, East Tennessee State, Kennesaw State, Southern Alabama, Troy, Arkansas-Little Rock, Memphis, Lamar, Texas-San Antonio, Western Carolina, Purdue and Southern Mississippi.
All seven Hoosiers have made the trip down south, with senior Kristtini Cain, junior Pamela Burneski, freshman Elizabeth Tong, junior Rosie Davies and junior Kate Coons holding the top five spots. Competing as individuals will be sophomore Sophie Hayashi and freshman Kamryn Klawitter.
Cain is coming off an outstanding 54 holes at the Westbrook Invitational in Arizona, finishing tied for seventh with a score of 214. Cain shot a season-best 69 in round one, followed by a 1-under 71 in the second round. She finished 2-under for the tournament.
Burneski also posted a top-20 finish in Arizona, placing tied for 16th with a 3-over 219. Her 72 in round one was a season best. Tong had one of the best outings of her young IU career at the event, finishing tied for 27th. She opened play with a season-best 1-under 71 and finished with a 6-over 222.
After Georgia, Indian will again head west, taking part in the MountainView Invitational, March 23-24 in Tucson, Ariz.
