AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Indiana women's golf team posted its second-straight round of 303 and its sixth with a score of 606 after 36 holes of the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
University of Texas-San Antonio leads the field at 584, followed by Augusta State (588), Purdue (592), Kennesaw State (601) and East Tennessee State (605). Play concludes with 18 holes tomorrow.
"I think the girls did a good job today," said head coach Clint Wallman. "We gave ourselves plenty of opportunities we just didn't convert at a high enough percentage to get anything going. Our goal for tomorrow is to keep giving ourselves scoring opportunities and do sour best to convert early on and get some momentum going."
Junior Rosie Davies continues to pace the way for Indiana, posting a 74 on Saturday to match her round one score. She is currently tied for ninth with a tally of 148.
Senior Kristtini Cain also sits in the top 25 after a 77 on Saturday gave her a 36-hole tally of 152. Freshman Elizabeth Tong and junior Kate Coons sit just outside the top 30 after identical rounds of 76 today have them both at 153 for the tournament.
Junior Pam Burneski is tied for 62nd, posting her lowest round of the tournament on Saturday with a 77, giving her a score of 160.
Competing as an individual, sophomore Sophie Hayashi is tied for 42nd. She followed up yesterday's score of 79 with a 77 today (156).
Freshman Kamryn Klawitter bounced back strong from an 84 on Friday, coming in with the second-lowest round of the day for IU at 75 today. She is tied for 57th with a two-round score of 159.
"I was very focused and challenged myself to be a hundred percent on every shot," Klawitter said. "My short game was also much better. I got up and down when I needed to."
