DeNato Tabbed Big Ten Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore left-hander Joey DeNato has been named Pitcher of the Week in the Big Ten for the week ending March 18. The California native had a stellar homecoming, tossing a complete-game three-hitter in a 3-1 win over Loyola Marymount last Thursday during the team's spring break trip.

DeNato retired 15 consecutive batters between the second and sixth innings and threw just 101 pitches. The performance earned DeNato his second career Pitcher of the Week honor. He was also the last Hoosier hurler to win the award when he was selected last May.

DeNato has been the most consistent pitcher this season for the Hoosiers, posting a 3-1 record with a 1.64 ERA in five appearances while striking out 21.
