BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's golf team will take its final trip of the season before the Big Ten Championships as it heads to Tucson, Ariz. for the Mountain View Collegiate, March 23-24.
The teams will play on the Mountain View Course at the Mountain View Country Club. Along with Indiana, the field includes Kansas State, Missouri, Louisville, SMU, Ohio State, Nebraska, Gonzaga, San Jose State, Northwestern, Kansas, Colorado State, Iowa State, Wyoming, and Texas Tech.
The Hoosiers are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate last weekend in Augusta, Ga. Junior Rosie Davies led the way for IU, finishing tied for 10th with a 6-over tally of 222.
Freshman Elizabeth Tong also placed in the top 25, tying for 25th with a score of 229. It was her fourth top-25 finish this year.
Also making the trip for the Hoosiers are senior Kristtini Cain, junior Kate Coons and junior Pamela Burneski.
The Hoosiers are no stranger to the Mountain View course, making their sixth-straight appearance in the tournament. Indiana won the event in 2007-08 and has finished fifth or better in four of the last five trips.
After this weekend the Hoosiers will be off until April 14-15 when it plays host to the IU Invitational at the IU Golf Course in Bloomington. The Big Ten Championships are set for April 27-29 on the Donald Ross Course at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.
