500 Freestyle
Junior Jim Barbiere made it back to tonight’s consolation final with a career-best time of 4:17.45, finishing 16th overall. That is the second-fastest time in school history. Freshman Steve Schmuhl finished 40th with a time of 4:25.68.
200 Individual Medley
Sophomore Cody Miller posted a career-best time of 1:44.66 to finish tied for 12th in prelims, sending him to tonight’s consolation final. That is just outside the top-five all-time fastest times at IU. Junior Sam Trahin went a career best 1:46.37 to finish third in his heat and 30th overall.
400 Medley Relay
James Wells, Miller, Schmuhl and Daniel Kanorr went 3:12.43 in the 400 medley relay prelims to finish 15th, earning a spot in tonight’s consolation final.
500 Freestyle
16. Jim Barbiere – 4:17.45 (career best; second-fastest time in school history)
40. Steve Schmuhl – 4:25.68
