BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's soccer staff will play host to the annual Indiana Soccer Coaches Symposium, April 6-7 on the IU campus in Bloomington, Ind.
This symposium is designed to offer soccer coaches throughout the Midwest two days of "professional development." The informative and stimulating coaching sessions give coaches an opportunity to grow with the game. Field sessions will address offensive and defensive principles, technical and tactical development and positional play.
On Friday, April 6, the IU staff will conduct a pair of field sessions, followed by a weight room tour and speed/agility session with IU strength coach Tom Morris.
The afternoon features a field session with Butler head coach Paul Snape, followed by adidas social and a match between the Hoosiers and Butler at 7:30 p.m. ET at Armstrong Stadium.
Saturday's schedule includes a field session with the IU staff, a youth training session with Indiana Youth Soccer Association's Steve Franklin, and a Match Analysis session.
In addition to IU head coach Todd Yeagley and assistant coaches Brian Maisonneuve and Ernie Yarborough, guest clinicians include Snape, who is in his second year at the helm of the Butler program and spent eight seasons as assistant coach at the University of Michigan. Franklin is the Indiana Youth Soccer Association Director of Coaching Education and spent 15 seasons as the head coach at IUPUI.
