Watford Named to NCAA All-South Region Team

ATLANTA - Indiana junior forward Christian Watford was named to the NCAA's All-South Region Team after leading the Hoosiers (27-9) to the Sweet Sixteen. He joins Kentucky's Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Doron Lamb, along with Baylor's Quincy Acy on the all-region team.
In a 79-66 win against New Mexico State, Watford tallied 14 points, four rebounds and one steal. He recorded 16 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist in a 63-61 win over VCU, which advanced the Hoosiers to the Sweet Sixteen. He also sank 4-of-5 from the 3-point line against the Rams. Against top-seeded Kentucky, Watford recorded 27 points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in a 102-90 loss.
For the tournament, Watford averaged 19.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He sank 51.2 percent (20-of-41) from the field, 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the 3-point line and 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from the free throw line.
