Fournier Earns Second Straight Player of the Week Award

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore Shae Fournier has been named CWPA Western Division Player of the Week after leading the No. 13 Indiana Hoosiers (13-4, 1-1 CWPA West) to a pair of wins at the Colorado State Tournament, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The award marks the second consecutive weekly honor for Fournier and her fourth this season. She has collected 14 CWPA weekly awards during her Hoosier career.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native posted team-highs of eight goals, five assists, five steals, and six field blocks during Indiana's two-game slate in Thornton, Colo.
Fournier opened the tournament with a career-high-tying five goals in a 16-9 win against Colorado State, including a first quarter hat trick. She also recorded three assists, two steals, four field blocks, and an earned exclusion against the Rams.
Against Cal State East Bay, Fournier notched three second half goals in the 8-5 Hoosier victory, while also posting two assists, three steals, two field blocks, and two earned exclusions.
For the season, Fournier leads the Hoosiers with 51 goals, 46 steals, and 53 field blocks. She has also dished out 22 assists and earned 23 kickouts.
Fournier has recorded 15 multi-goal performances in 2012, including seven contests with at least four goals.
