ON A ROLL
The Hoosiers enter the postseason on a five-game winning streak, including four victories in regular season Western Division play. Indiana put themselves in position to notch the No. 2 seed for the Western Championship by downing No. 9 Michigan, 8-7, on March 31 in front of a national television audience on the Big Ten Network.
CLOSING IN
The Hoosiers are within striking distance of the Indiana single-season wins record of 26 set by the 1998, 2003, and 2011 squads. The 2012 Hoosiers have reeled off 24 wins heading into postseason play, including eight wins over ranked opponents. Head Coach Barry King and the Hoosiers have reached the 20-win plateau for the 13th time in 15 seasons.
RECORD HOLDER
Sophomore Shae Fournier broke the Indiana single-season scoring record of 80 goals set by Jakie Kohli during the 2010 campaign. Fournier fired in her 81st and 82nd goals of the season during the win at Michigan. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native is averaging 2.65 goals per game and leads the CWPA in scoring.
DEFENSE WINS
Senior goalkeeper Cassie Wyckoff and the Indiana defense have allowed just 6.47 goals per game this season. Wyckoff has recorded 308 saves on the year, including 20 games with double-digit blocks. She racked up 15 saves in the win at Michigan and earned her sixth CWPA Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award in the process.
CLUTCH PERFORMANCE
Freshman Alexis Jones came up huge for the Hoosiers at Michigan, scoring two goals in the final 6:33, including the game-winner with 46 seconds remaining. The Mundelein, Ill. native also earned a team-high four exclusions en route to being named CWPA Western Division Rookie of the Week.
