IU Closes Regular Season at Home with Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University women's golf team will have one more tournament before Big Ten Championship play as it plays host to the Indiana Invitational, April 14-15 at the IU Golf Course in Bloomington.
Joining the Hoosiers in the tournament is Ball State, Bradley, Butler, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Illinois State, IUPUI, Kansas State, Marshall, Missouri State, Toledo, UMKC, Valparaiso and Western Michigan. The teams will play the IU Golf Course as a par-72, 6,055-yard course on Saturday, and at 6,082 yards on Sunday.
Live results will be available on www.golfstat.com. The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. The tournament concludes with 18 holes Sunday, also starting at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Last year's IU Invitational was played at the Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, where the Hoosiers finished fourth in a rain-shortened 36-hole event. Eastern Michigan is the top returning finisher from last year's event, finishing second. Kansas State also placed in the top five in 2011 (fifth).
Indiana is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Mountain View Collegiate with a three-round score of 873. Junior Kate Coons led the way, finishing tied for ninth with a score of 216 (E). Senior Kristtini Cain placed tied for 13th (218/+2), while junior Rosie Davies tied for 18th (219/+3).
