IU Cheerleading Announces 2012-13 Squads

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University selected its 2012-2013 Cheerleading Program participants for two squads during a two-day try-out April 13-14, 2012, in the Assembly Hall.
"The talent level we saw was outstanding during the try-outs," said program head coach Julie Horine. "We are coming off our most successful year ever as a program with the 2012 UCA National Championship for the All-Girls Division and a No. 4 finish in the Small Co-Ed where we had members of our Cream and Crimson Cheer Squads competing as one squad. We are very excited for the opportunities in 2012-2013 to cheer for Coach Kevin Wilson (football), Coach Sherry Dunbar (volleyball), Coach Tom Crean (men's basketball) and new head coach Curt Miller (women's basketball). Supporting the Hoosiers is our top of our priority, and we also look forward to the one competition we enter every year. Defending our championship and moving up with the small co-ed squad are a key part of our goals.
"Our Cream Squad changed its look a bit this time with our selection. We had several outstanding Crimson Squad ladies graduate who had two No. 4 finishes, a runner-up finish and the national championship during their Crimson career (2008-2012). We like to think we reloaded for the Crimson Squad to make a run at back-to-back national championships in the All-Girls division."
