BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After picking up her first individual collegiate title, Indiana University women's golfer Kristtini Cain is the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Cain earned medalist honors at the rain-shorted IU Invitational last week by posting a score of 73 in the 18-hole event. Tied with three others, the group went into a three-hole playoff, with Cain triumphing over Ball State's Jenna Hague with a birdie on the par-5 first hole.
As a team the Hoosiers won their second tournament of the year with a score of 298. Indiana was undefeated on its home course this season, winning the IU Fall Kickoff back in September.
Cain and the Hoosiers are back in action April 27-29 at the Big Ten Championships, taking place on the Donald Ross Course at the French Lick Resort.
