Hoosiers to Compete in Boilermaker Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team (No. 43 Golfweek/Sagarin, No. 37 Golfstat) travels to West Lafayette, Ind. on April 21-22 to compete in the Boilermaker Invitational at the Kampen Course.
The tournament is a 54-hole event with the first two rounds being played on Saturday in an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start. Sunday's final round will get underway with tee times off the front and back nine beginning at 8:45 a.m.

THE FIELD
The 15-team field for the tournament includes five Big Ten squads and six teams ranked among the nation's top-40 according to Golfstat (No. 18 Kent State, No. 26 Iowa, No. 35 TCU, No. 36 Wichita State, No. 37 Indiana, No. 39 Illinois). The complete field is Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, IUPUI, Kent State, Michigan State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Purdue, TCU, Toledo, and Wichita State.
THE VENUE
The Kampen Course, designed by Pete Dye, is a par-72, 7,465-yard layout in West Lafayette, Ind.
BACK-TO-BACK TOP TENS
Senior David Erdy and sophomore David Mills have each posted top-10 finishes in the past two events for the Hoosiers. Erdy tied for seventh in both the NYX Hoosier Invitational and the Kepler Intercollegiate. Mills posted a third place finish at the NYX Hoosier Invitational and joined Erdy in a tie for seventh at the Kepler Intercollegiate.
CONSISTENCY
Senior Chase Wright has finished in the top-25 in each of the Hoosiers' seven stroke play events in the 2011-12 campaign, highlighted by a tie for second at the Firestone Invitational in October. The Muncie, Ind. native has also posted four top-10 showings this season. Mills has shown a similar consistency, recording top-25 finishes in six of the seven events.
