Travis Wins Second Straight B1G Player of the Week Award

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sam Travis has earned back-to-back Big Ten Player of the Week honors, announced the conference office on Monday. Travis was tabbed as the Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week as well.
In a weekend series versus Iowa, Travis batted .625 and extended his current hitting streak to 15 games. The two-time reigning conference player of the week also slugged 1.375 and reached base at a .727 clip, combining for an OPS of 2.102 against the Hawkeyes. Travis belted a pair of homeruns, totaled seven RBI and scored four runs in Indiana's series victory. He also drove in a run during a midweek contest with Xavier.
Travis excelled defensively as well, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 42 putouts and two assists.
Through seven weeks, Indiana leads the conference in total of weekly awards with seven.
