The cream of the crop of American junior athletics is coming to Bloomington, from June 15th to the 17th for the 2012 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Fans will be treated to a glimpse of the future of USA Track & Field as the best high school standouts and the most promising college freshmen face off at one of America's premier venues. The meet will be held at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex.
This meet will serve as a qualifier for this year's IAAF World Junior Championships. Top performers will be part of the American team that will compete in Barcelona, Spain from July 10th to July 15th.
Indiana has a pair of athletes competing. Brie Roller will run in the women's 800m after a stellar freshman campaign in Cream and Crimson, and Owen Skeete will run the men's 1500m after redshirting in his first year in Bloomington. Both Roller and Skeete spent their prep careers in New York state. Roller is from Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., and Skeete came to Bloomington from Westbury, N.Y.
