BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 2012 London Olympics will feature seven Hoosiers representing six countries in six sports.

Kayla Bashore -Smedley (USA, Women's Field Hockey)
Margaux Farrell (France, Swimming - Women's 4x200M freestyle relay)
Christina Loukas (USA, Diving - Women's 3M Springboard)
Dorina Szekeres (Hungary, Swimming - Women's 200M backstroke)
Nicholas Schwab (Dominican Republic - Men's 200M freestyle)
Derek Drouin (Canada, Men's High Jump)
Orianica Velasquez (Colombia - Women's Soccer)

• 2012 will serve as the 2nd straight Olympic Games for Kayla Bashore -Smedley (USA Field Hockey) & Christina Loukas (USA Diving)
• 4 current IU student-athletes are competing for 4 different countries
- Dorina Szekeres, Hungary - 200M Backstroke
- Nicholas Schwab, Dominican Republic - 200M Freestyle
- Ori Velasquez, Colombia - Women's Soccer
- Derek Drouin, Canada - High Jump
• Since 1904, Indiana athletes, coaches and staff have accumulated 85 medals, including 48 gold medals
• Most decorated Indiana Olympian - Mark Spitz, 11 total medals (9 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze)
- 1972 Munich Olympics - 7 Gold, a record broken by Michael Phelps at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (8 Gold)
• Most recent IU Gold Medalist - David Neville, Men's Track & Field (USA) in 2008
