Schwab Makes Olympic Debut in 200 Freestyle

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University senior Nicholas Schwab made his Olympic debut on Sunday in the men's 200-meter freestyle at the Aquatics Centre in London. Schwab is representing the Dominican Republic at the Games.
Competing in the first heat of the morning, Schwab won his heat with a time of 1:53.41. That placed him 36th overall in the event.
Schwab is one of three swimming Hoosiers represented at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Recent IU graduate Margaux Farrell will swim the women's 4x200-meter freestyle relay for France on Aug. 1, while sophomore Dorina Szekeres will compete in the 200-meter backstroke for her native Hungary on Aug. 2.
