NORMAN, Okla. - David Erdy has been selected as a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The honor marks the second consecutive for Erdy, as he was also recognized following the 2011 season.
Erdy, a Boonville, Ind. native, was among 148 Division I student-athletes to earn the award. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Erdy wrapped up his successful Hoosier career with the sixth lowest career scoring average in school history (73.61). In 2012, Erdy posted five top-25 performances, including four straight top-15 showings during the spring portion of the schedule. He notched a scoring average of 74.57 during his senior season.
Erdy was also recognized as an Academic All-Big Ten honoree for the third consecutive season.
