Field Hockey Kicks Off Preseason Friday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team will open up preseason competition this weekend when they head to Louisville this Friday, August 17 for a Noon ET meeting with the Cardinals before returning to the friendly confines of IU Field Hockey Complex Sunday, August 19, for a 2 p.m. ET exhibition with Miami (Ohio).

Both opponents are also slated on this season's 17-game, 2012 regular season schedule. The Hoosiers will host eight games in Bloomington, Ind. and will see action against opponents from six different conferences, including the America East (Vermont), Atlantic-10 (Lock Haven), Big East (Louisville, Villanova), Big Ten (Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State), Mid-American (Ball State, Central Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Missouri State, Ohio) and Northern Pacific Conference (California).
