BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook has announced its 2012-13 preseason All-America team, listing Indiana sophomore Cody Zeller at center.
Zeller, who was also named a Preseason All-American by Yahoo, was an AP Honorable Mention All-American, a Freshman All-American (Yahoo, Sporting News and USBWA) and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year (Coaches) during his rookie campaign at Indiana that culminated in the Hoosiers reaching the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2002.
The Washington, Ind., native helped IU to a 27-9 overall record while leading the team with 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He shot 62.3 percent (200-of-321) from the field and 75.5 percent (163-of-216) from the free throw line. He ranked fourth in the country in field goal percentage, which led the Big Ten Conference. During tournament play last season, Zeller averaged 16.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
Joining Zeller on the Blue Ribbon Preseason All-America Team is Deshaun Thomas (F, Ohio State), Doug McDermott (F, Creighton), Michael Snaer (G, Florida State) and Peyton Siva (G, Louisville).
