Big Ten Network Announces Soccer Broadcast Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Big Ten Network announced its 2012 soccer broadcast schedule, and Indiana will be featured a total of three times during the regular season.
In all, 20 regular-season collegiate soccer matches will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network, with 18 of those being shown live.
The Indiana men's soccer team and Ohio State kick off the BTN men's broadcast schedule on Sunday, Sept. 23 in Columbus, Ohio. The match will be show live at 1 p.m. ET. Note that is a time change from the originally scheduled 2 p.m. game time.
Indiana bookends the BTN's regular season slate as it plays host to the Northwestern Wildcats in its regular-season finale on Thursday, Nov. 1 in Bloomington. That match will also be shown live at 8 p.m. ET.
IU will also play in front of a national television audience on Saturday, Aug. 18 as it takes on Chivas de Guadalajara in a preseason match at the Shindigz National Soccer Festival in Fort Wayne. The match will be show live at 7 p.m. ET on Fox Soccer Channel.
The Hoosier women face rival Purdue in a live broadcast on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. ET at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington. Armstrong Stadium is also the site of the 2012 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament, with semifinal matches being shown live on Friday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. ET. Live coverage of the championship match begins at noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 4.
The men's tournament, scheduled for Nov. 7-11 in Evanston, Ill. will also get live coverage, beginning with the two semifinal matches starting at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 9. The championship match will also be shown live on Sunday, Nov. 11.
In addition, the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) released its 2012 preseason rankings, and the Indiana men are ranked No. 12 heading to the season. The Hoosiers are one of two Big Ten teams in the preseason top-25, joined by No. 20 Northwestern. Indiana finished the 2011 season with a record of 13-4-5 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
Other 2012 IU opponents among the top-25 include No. 7 Louisville and No. 10 Akron.
