Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana goalkeeper Maggie Olson was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office today, Sept. 18 after helping the IU field hockey team to a shootout victory over No. 22 California last weekend.
The Springfield, Pa. native was impressive in goal for the Hoosiers, allowing just one goal in 100 minutes of play and made six huge stops for IU. The Defensive Player of the Week honor is a first for Olson and is the second weekly award in her career.
The Hoosiers will open Big Ten play this Friday, Sept. 21 at Penn State 3 p.m. ET.
