Yeagley Named Coach of the Year

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After leading the Indiana Hoosiers to their eighth national title in just his third season at the helm of the program, IU head coach Todd Yeagley was named NCAA Division I Coach of the Year by Soccer America.
Yeagley led the team to an overall record of 16-5-3 in 2012, with wins over Xavier (4-1) at No. 1 Notre Dame (2-1, 2OT) at No. 9 North Carolina (1-0), vs. No. 12 Creighton (1-0) and No. 3 Georgetown (1-0) in the NCAA Tournament for the program's eighth national title, and first since 2004.
Indiana's 16 wins this season is the most by a Hoosier squad since the 2004 title team.
Yeagley has amassed a record of 39-17-10 since returning to Indiana prior to the 2010 season. He spent the 2009 season as head coach at Wisconsin, and before that was an assistant coach with the Hoosiers from 2004-08.
Under Yeagley's leadership as head coach, Indiana has won an NCAA title, Big Ten title (2010), produced three NSCAA All-Americans (Will Bruin, Chris Estridge, Eriq Zavaleta) and sent six players to Major League Soccer.
Also earning notice from Soccer America were sophomore Eriq Zavaleta and freshman Femi Hollinger-Janzen. Zavaleta was named a first-team MVP by the publication, while Hollinger-Janzen was a second-team All-Freshman selection.
